MODEL 339

This is a mechanical lock mainly made of zinc alloy, which uses a key to drive the lock bolt to lift vertically for locking. It is commonly used in drawers, filing cabinets and other scenarios, and has both privacy protection and basic anti-theft functions.

Core Structure and Principle

Lock Body: Made primarily of zinc alloy, the surface is usually chrome-plated or painted for rust and wear resistance.

Lifting Bolt: This is its most defining feature-the bolt moves vertically up and down instead of rotating. When the key is inserted and turned, the cam mechanism inside the lock cylinder pushes the bolt upward to engage with the corresponding slot in the cabinet; when the key is turned in the reverse direction, the bolt retracts downward under spring force to unlock.

Lock Cylinder: Uses a pin-tumbler structure, so only a matching key can drive the cam to link the bolt's movement, providing basic anti-pry and privacy protection.

Mounting Base: Equipped with screw holes for fixing to the side or front of a drawer, with an installation method similar to that of ordinary drawer locks.

Key Features

More Secure Locking: The vertically telescoping bolt has a larger engagement area with the cabinet slot, making it more resistant to forced pulling than rotary tongue locks, and offering slightly better anti-theft performance.

Usage Notes

Before installation, ensure that the telescopic stroke of the bolt matches the depth of the cabinet slot to prevent the bolt from failing to extend fully or jamming.

During daily use, avoid hanging heavy objects on the key or twisting it violently to prevent deformation of the cam mechanism inside the lock cylinder.

If the bolt jams, apply a small amount of graphite powder to the gap between the bolt and the lock body for lubrication; avoid using machine oil, as it easily attracts dust.
