The correct installation and daily maintenance of drawer locks can effectively extend their service life and ensure safe use. The installation should follow three simple steps: first, drill a hole at the appropriate position on the drawer panel according to the lock specifications. The hole diameter should match the lock core diameter to avoid being too large or too small; second, embed the lock body into the hole and fix the screws to ensure that the lock body is firm and not loose; finally, test whether the lock opens and locks smoothly, adjust the position of the lock tongue, and ensure that the drawer can be completely locked after closing.

Daily maintenance is also important. First, clean the keyhole regularly. You can wipe the dust on the lock surface with a dry cloth to avoid dust and debris entering the lock core, which may cause the key to be unable to be inserted or rotated smoothly; second, if the lock core gets stuck, you can drop a small amount of special lubricating oil, do not use edible oil, so as not to corrode the internal parts of the lock core.

In addition, avoid violently opening or closing the drawer to prevent damage to the lock body and lock tongue; for drawer locks that are not used for a long time, they need to be opened and closed regularly to keep the lock core flexible. If you find that the lock is loose or the key cannot be rotated, you should repair or replace it in time to avoid affecting the safety of use. Especially for drawers storing important documents or valuables, it is more important to check the lock status regularly.
