This is indeed a drawer lock, also known as a cabinet lock or furniture lock, which is a hardware accessory specially designed for drawers, filing cabinets, and storage lockers.

Working Principle

When you insert the key into the lock cylinder and rotate it, the pin tumbler mechanism inside the lock cylinder drives the linkage to push the bolt outward.The extended bolt will catch in the corresponding slot of the cabinet body, thus securely locking the drawer.When the key is rotated in the opposite direction, the linkage retracts the bolt, allowing the drawer to be opened smoothly.

This rotation-driven bolt structure is currently the most mainstream design for drawer locks, featuring stable structure, high durability, and good anti-pry performance when locked.

Material

The lock body is generally made of zinc alloy or iron, with a chrome-plated or black-sprayed surface for both rust resistance and aesthetics. The internal pin tumbler of the lock cylinder is made of copper, which enhances durability and anti-theft performance.

Application

It is mainly used for office desk drawers, filing cabinets, wardrobes, bedside tables, etc., to prevent items from being stolen or accidentally opened. It is a very common safety accessory in office and home scenarios.
